Don’t Holiday Without This Eco-Friendly Shampoo
One of my biggest packing peeves is when my tiny bottles of bathroom stuff (cleanser, shampoo, conditioner, etc) explode in my suitcase en route, covering everything in my suitcase in a gooey, goopy mess that I only discover when I finally get to the hotel.
It’s happened to me before, and it’s an especially annoying way to start a holiday.
Putting any spillables into a series of plastic bags, artfully twisted to prevent any leaks from reaching my other stuff, is a pretty standard preventative measure – but a product that’s 100% risk-free in the ruining-your-stuff stakes takes home the travel beauty trophy for me.
Enter Shampoo With A Purpose.

This shampoo is a bar, like soap, meaning it’s not spilling anywhere, ever.
It’s Australian owned and made, which is a big tick, because we’re all about supporting local businesses.
It’s palm oil-, plastic- and sulfate-free – a big winner for sensitive skin – and it’s also vegan, it smells like fresh, natural, botanicals, and it lathers up easily as well as regular bottled shampoo, but without any nasties.
And since these bars are bursting with natural oils, you don’t need to use without conditioner if you want to keep things super-minimal – although, full disclosure, I prefer to follow up a lather-rinse-repeat with a good condition or treatment. I’ve tried it without Step 2, and yes, it works, but as I’m a not-in-any-way-natural blonde, I like to throw in that extra love for luscious locks post-cleanse.
Possibly very best of all, one bar replaces six full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner, meaning less plastic out there messing up the planet, which is a big win in my books, whether you’re using it at home or on the road.
I’ve tried the Volume bar, but there are three others to suit your hair situation – The O.G, Dry/Damaged, and Colour Treated – and you can event get your hands on a sample pack of all four to pick which one’s best for your tresses. (And the mini 10g bars are a travel beauty-bag MVP, too – bonus.)
